Although North Texas has been my home for the past 10 years, I grew up in Houston in a family that was both highly analytical and extremely creative. Being the youngest daughter of two older brothers taught me to “keep up or stay out of the way”! My father is a skilled precision machinist and engineer and my mother is a talented artist and designer in her own right. My entire youth was saturated in the world of arts and machines and “doing things” with your own hands.

I attended Cottey College, Nevada, Missouri, and completed my B.A. in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas, Houston, Texas. I pursued careers in the brokerage industry and in government over the past 25 years, but I always felt something was “missing”. It wasn’t until much later that I discovered my interest in the camera.

Many of my images are created from just simply sitting back and observing the world around me. I look for that angle, color, shape or shadow that intrigues me. Perhaps I don’t seek the image out as much as the image “finds me”.

I enjoy experimenting with light and focus – ever trying to stretch the boundaries of the digital image. As with any art form, limits are only bounded by the imagination and creativity of the artist. I’d like to take my photographs beyond the second dimension -- just to see what’s possible.
